FOUR SHORT STORIES
 Author: Margery Morris.
Publisher: Collins English Library
Summary:
This book is divided into four different stories:

The first: Death and MoneyThere were three men who liked to drink a lot at Grand Hotel. One man talked to a child about death, saying that death was taking all lives. One of the men began to say that death would not take his life. The men started arguing until they said that they were going to kill death. When the three young men were walking along the road, they saw an old man. The old man knocked the ground with his stick. One of the three men asked why he did that and the man said he wanted to die. The men asked where they could find death and the old man said: “I saw him under a tree, up on the mountain there, go there, find the tree and death too”. The three young men walked up the mountain. When they came under the tree, they found a lot of money. One of the men asked if they took the money or killed death.  All said the money. The next day all of them were dead.

The second: Tobermory the Cat It’s a man who invites his friends to his house and explains that his cat speaks English. They don’t believe him. The man says to the cat to come, the cat goes and asks for milk. After that, the friends ask questions and the cat begins to tell secrets of its owners, and Sir Wilfried throws hims out of home. The cat never returned home.

The third: The Monkey’s Foot  Mr. and Mrs. White go to a friend's house for dinner and the friend tells a story about India. The story is about a monkey’s foot that granted things. When dinner finished, Mr. and Mrs. White stole the foot and went home. In the house Mr. and Mrs. White asked the foot for money. The money didn’t appear. Then a man came at the door and asked if he could go in. When the man was inside the house, he told them that their son was dead. The man told them he would give them $ 400 for the death of their son. After that they got rid of the foot.

The fourth:  You Can’t Have Everything You Want. It’s about a fisherman who catches a magic fish in the river. The fish pleads him to release him. The fisherman releases the fish and goes to the house and tells everything to his wife. The wife gets angry and she forces him to catch the fish. The fisherman goes to the river and fishes the magic fish. Then it says: “Put me in the river and I’ll give you your wife’s wishes”. The fisherman did so and went to his home. When he arrived at its house, his wife was wearing a red dress. After that, the wife said she wanted to become the Queen. The man went to the river and said to the fish what his wife wanted .The fish told him to go home. The man went to the house and there was nothing of what the fish had given him. The man went to the river and didn’t see the fish. The man never saw the fish again.

My opinion: I don’t like this book because it’s boring.
