Summary: San Francisco is an important city in the United States of America. Around 679,000 people live in San Francisco. Three and a half million people visit San Francisco every year.

Spanish soldiers built San Francisco in 1776, it was a military post. In the same year the United States of America became a free country. At this time, about 800 people were living in San Francisco. In 1848 gold appeared near San Francisco. Men came to San Francisco to get gold. In 1906 an earthquake shook San Francisco, and soon large fires burned the city for three days. Hundreds of people died.

San Francisco is built on many hills. In San Francisco the climate is very good, around 11º in December and 15º in July. There are two bridges in San Francisco: the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Bridge. There are a lot of transports in San Francisco: buses, streetcars, trains, taxis and cable cars. San Francisco is famous for its cable cars. The cable cars are pulled by a heavy wire rope and there are three cable cars lines in the city. In Fisherman’s Wharf the people can walk beside the water and there are a lot of seafood restaurants. The most important area in San Francisco is the Union Square. In California the wine is very well-known.

Opinion: In my opinion this book is very interesting because you learn a lot of things about San Francisco. I recommend it.
