The wonderful wizard of Oz

Title: THE WONDERFUL WIZARD OF OZ

Author: L. Frank Baum

Publishers: Black Cat

Summary: This book is about a girl called Dorothy, she lives in Kansas. One day a cyclone took the house of Dorothy with her and her dog inside to the wonderful world of Oz. When the house landed, it crushed the Wicked Witch of the West. When Dorothy arrived she found the Good Witch of the North. The Good Witch told her that he had killed the Wicked Witch of the West and removed the Wicked Witch boots and put them to Dorothy. She also told her to return to Kansas to see the Wizard of Oz who lived in the Emerald City. In the yellow brick roads Dorothy and Toto met a scarecrow who spoke and told them that they had to help him with his post. The scarecrow wanted a brain and Dorothy then told him to come to see the wizard if she could help. They continued the yellow brick roads but they stopped when they saw a tin Woodman. The tin Woodman needed help, he needed that they put oil on her body. The tin Woodman wanted a heart and Dorothy then told him to come to see the wizard if she could help. They continued the brick yellow roads. They stopped because they heard a lot of noises behind the trees; suddenly a lion jumped out into the road. The lion wanted courage, and Dorothy told him to come to see the wizard if she could help. They arrived at Emerald City. The wizard told them they had to kill the Wicked witch of the East. They went to the wizard castle and killed her. When he returned at the Emerald City the wizard gave them the things they wanted. He gave a brain to the Scarecrow, a heart to the Tin Woodman and courage to the lion. The wizard offered to take Dorothy to Kansas in his hot air balloon. But the rope of the hot air balloon broke and the wizard went to Kansas without Dorothy. Dorothy went to see the Good Witch of the South and the Witch made her to go back to Kansas.

Opinion: In my opinion this book is very simple, very childish and very boring. There are a lot of photos and not much text.
