1-The Big Apple in New York is Manhattan. Jazz musicians all wanted to work in New York. 
The people said: when you take New York City, you take the Big Apple!
Manhattan is the most exciting city in the world. Manhattan island is 21.5 kilometers long and 3.7 kilometers wide. But New York was not always a big city.





2-By 1647, about 500 people lived in New Amsterdam. In 1664 it changed its name to New York.

3-There are a lot of things to see in New York, and it is easy to move around the different parts of the city. You can take the subway or go by bus.  And you can also take a ferry journey.



4- In New York there are some places to go:
MANHATTAN:  Chinatown, Little Italy, Greenwich Village, Central Park.
BROOKLYN: Coney Island





5- If you want to look at the buildings in New York look up! The Statue of Liberty, the Empire State Building, the World Trade Centre and the United Nations Building.

6- In New York it is typical to eat a pretzel, a hamburger, a hot dog and wonderful sandwiches.

7- And what can you do after dinner in the evening? 
-go to the theatre
- go to the rock concerts or listen to some music






8- New Yorkers love parades and there is one in some part of the city most months of the year.

9- Some visitors find hat New Yorkers are not very friendly. Some are and some aren’t.
